Barefoot by Barbara Sansoni ~~ Lovable toys for Baby, Child or maybe yourself, some can be heirlooms to treasure for many years to come

I can tell you I am very biased when it comes to the Barefoot Range by “”Barbara Sansoni”. I absolutely fell in love with them the first time I saw the range.

• I love colour, I feel alive when I see beautiful colours splashed together to create awesome products and this is where Barefoot have captured my full attention.
  
• Their products are made from 100% cotton and the toys are filled with kapok.
  
• Their toys visually stimulating for children because of their bright colours and tactile because of their creative use of fabric textures.

Barbara Sansoni, an artist, textile designer and colourist, started this concept out of a need of a rehabilitation program in Sri Lankan in 1958, for young women with limited schooling and skills. Barefoot artisans are dedicated weavers and designers, who without the constraints of mass production, are able to produce fine high quality products in a sustainable way. They are also encouraged to be innovative and stretch their creative talents.
As some of you know I am an artist myself, and I appreciate the quality, style and the uniqueness of all the products…as not one product is the same as the other. They are all finished off in different colours.

Who wouldn’t like to have one of these in a child’s room or perhaps one like me (who is slowly approaching second childhood)…..I have one in my family room hanging down from the ceiling. The work is meticulous, the craftsmanship is outstanding and unique, the concept  is fantastic, it can be folded and taken with them on holidays or someone’s house, and have an immediate play house. These gorgeous Barefoot mice will be their friends for life. I think it is a work of art. You will have your own piece of fine art as every one of them is unique.

Stockholm Sweden ~~ cafe along the waterfront….

In my trip to Beautiful Stockholm, one memory comes to mind, I was travelling with my daughter and we decided one night to stop at this cafe, to have a drink…we decided to, have a bottle of Rose as, I prefer drinking red and she was more comfortable with the white…so we decided to order a Rose to suit both….Well we looked at the menu and the only Rose wine was an Australian wine…which in Australia, we can get for $10.00…Guess how much we ended up paying for it…….?

$50.00 ….Sweden has a very high tax on Alcohol…..I could not believe it at the time..all I remember we had a great time and you can imagine after finishing the whole bottle between us…we were both merry merry!

Taralye market day….27th August

Taralye is an early intervention centre providing inclusive oral language programs for deaf children and their families throughout Victoria. It is situated in Blackburn Victoria.


Every year the last Saturday in August a big Market event is held on the grounds of the school. It is one of their major fundraising event.


I have been exhibiting in this event, probably for the last six or seven years now. The parents do a wonderful job organizing this event, and the staff at this school are so fabulous.


I so look forward to do this event every year, and so tomorrow I will be there once again.


I thoroughly recommend it is a great day out, lots of activities and fabulous stalls to do some of your Christmas shopping maybe.

I find Peace in nature….Dubai Desert at Sunset…

This is one treasured moment (in the Sand Dunes of Dubai Desert), I experienced in my travels, my camera played up on the day and died on me.
These are the only 2 images that I managed to have…as you see the camel is posing right infront where the sun is coming down. It was a magical moment that I still cherish  (one that I dig in when I want to remember special moments to pick me up)!

Mums-to-be, or maybe are you after a different and unique gift for a Baby Shower that you are invited to!

Have you heard of Aunty Rozzy? Giveaway & Review…………..

If you are like me, until last week I have never heard of Aunty Rozzy before…….but gee am I so glad I was introduced to her books. Through her books and characters that she has created, she  is engaging kids to read, dance, sing and at the same time encouraging healthy eating habits.

As some of you readers and customers of mine know by now that I have worked with kids, for a period of 25 years, plus I had 2 of my own.

When I saw the package that  I was given to review, I was so delighted to see the colourful illustration of the books. I personally love lots of colours, and I  firmly believe that  Kids love bright coloured illustrations too. I find also that Special kids seem to be so attracted to something that is so colourful.

As I went through the books, the message is loud and clear to introduce and eat healthy food….but it is done in a way that eating Healthy food becomes fun and enjoyable. With every book comes an Audio CD. The music and songs that comes along with the book are very catchy and makes you want to sing and dance……


Nanna’s Carrots comes in a choice of Hardcover or Paperback. They are both nicely finished.

The Incredible Edible Alphabet comes in HardCover.

She has created 2 Characters in her books apart from herself and nanna who are lot’s of fun..Perry the Parrot and Hariette the Rabbit

Aunty Rozzy has also come up with an “Edible Reciplease Calendar”

These books are created for kids 2 to 8 years old. Aunty Rozzy the Creator is Roz Tesoriero a professional musician, educator and has been entertaining children since 1987. I thoroughly recommend her books and audio to parents, carers and educators alike.
